Three Time IMSA Championship Winner Instantly recognizable as The Lowenbrau Car, 962-HR1 is among the most successful sports cars ever to race in North America and is an active tribute to the great driver and team owner, Al Holbert. Constructed by Holbert in 1985 as the successor to his original Porsche 962 (962-103), HR1 became Holberts sprint race specialist winning nine races over a two year period and contributing to three consecutive IMSA Drivers championships. Holberts co-drivers included Berek Bell (his favorite), Chip Robinson, and Al Unser, Jr. In a sad twist of fate, HR1 was also to be the subject of Holberts last business deal as he agreed to sell the car just minutes prior to his ill-fated flight in October, 1997.
